Top Mui Ne Attractions: What to See and How to Visit

Mui Ne packs desert-like dunes, a working fishing village, a red-rock stream and a mountain with a giant reclining Buddha into one short stretch of coast. This guide covers the main Mui Ne attractions, what each one is like, and the easiest way to visit.

White Sand Dunes (Đồi Cát Trắng)
The biggest and most dramatic dunes in the area, with wide, open sand that looks like a small desert. Go at sunrise, when the light is soft and the sand is still cool. A private jeep is the easiest way to reach them.

Red Sand Dunes (Đồi Cát Đỏ)
Closer to the main resort strip, and popular at sunset when the sand turns orange and red. They are small enough to combine with the white dunes in one trip.

ATV Rides on the Dunes
If you would rather ride than walk, quad bikes are one of the most popular activities on the dunes. ATV rides are included in selected HG Travel jeep tours.

Fairy Stream (Suối Tiên)
A shallow stream you walk through barefoot, between red and white rock walls. It is free, easy for most ages, and takes under an hour at a relaxed pace.

Mui Ne Fishing Village (Làng Chài Mũi Né)
Colourful boats fill the harbour, and the best time to see it is early morning, when the catch comes in. It is a good look at local life away from the resort strip.

Ta Cu Mountain and the Lying Buddha + Fruit Farm visit + Vietnamese Coffee

A break from the beach: ride the cable car up Ta Cu Mountain to the large reclining Buddha. Pair it with the Whale Temples and a coffee stop on the way back.

Phan Thiet Local Market  + Discover Phan Thiet's Fish Sauce Tradition + Whale temple

Experience local life at Phan Thiet Local Market, one of the best places to discover the everyday culture and flavors of southern Vietnam. Located in nearby Phan Thiet City, this lively traditional market offers a glimpse into local life, with vendors selling fresh seafood, fish, meat, tropical fruits, vegetables, and Vietnamese street food.

Best time to visit
Mui Ne is dry and sunny for most of the year, and the windy months from November to April are the peak season for kitesurfing. For the dunes, early morning and late afternoon are cooler and give better photos.

Getting around
Most attractions are spread over a wide area, so a private jeep or car with a local driver saves time and avoids the midday heat. HG Travel can also arrange transfers from Ho Chi Minh City.
